Anyone find symptoms come, go & change?

This time last year I was really struggling with joint pain, distinctly remember walking round the Christmas lights and being desperate to sit down. I started to worry I might in fact have arthritis. However, this has faded over the year and its dawned on me that I'm now completely pain free and have been for a while. On the other hand, I'm now struggling with sleep, something I've never had before. Brain fog is worse than ever. Night sweats come & go and I went through a phase a while back of heartburn but that seems to have gone, thank god.

Nothing has changed in terms of diet or medication (not on HRT), I exercise regularly and have done for years, even when it was painful.

Anyone else find this and know why it is?

Yes. For a while, I had right hip pain and was about to go see a GP about it, but it's since disappeared. The brain fog has now reappeared - I will recheck my ferritin to make sure it's not due to that - as have some hot flashes. No rage, which was bothersome about two years ago.

My periods are still more or less regular, on the shorter side, but I did have one cycle of 57 days earlier this year.

Yes, your description is just how I was. It can be frustrating because you end up thinking every little thing is due to peri/menopause.
The aching joints was the worst for me, and for a while, headaches. Got a little anxiety but not too "ragey". The joys of womanhood. 😏

I just assumed that as your hormones are fluctuating so will your symptoms.
I have vertigo and hot flashes that come and go. Although the joint pain and insomnia are the worst, I never know if the insomnia is making the joint pain feel worse or if its the pain causing the insomnia!😂
Funnily enough it affects how bendy I am too! I can get much further when touching my toes if it's a good hormone day.

During perimenopause your hormones are changing and symptoms usually fluctuate with that. Progesterone declines gradually but oestrogen levels can fluctuate a lot as they decline, and oestrogen changes are responsible for lots of symptoms. What you're describing is very normal, and an absolute pain in the arse! I hated the unpredictability of symptoms.

Yeah definitely, maybe as it fluctuates different systems are affected?

Sorry cross posted, totally agree!
