Two cycles/bleeds a month - is it common?

I’ve tried to get an appointment with my GP but I can’t get through their triage system to get one. I’m currently either having two cycles a month. I definitely had a period from the 24th to the 28th October but, nine days later, I’m bleeding again. I’m using Evorel 100 patches and taking two Utrogestan capsules every day. These effectively manage my perimenopause symptoms but the frequent bleeds are getting me down. When I first went into perimenopause, my cycles were 24 days but now they’re around 14-16 days. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

That sounds frustrating. The frequent bleeding could be from how the progesterone in Utrogestan interacts with the Evorel patch dose. Some women need to tweak the ratio or switch to a cyclical schedule. Definitely worth pushing for a GP review or asking for a menopause specialist.

I had this. Advised could be low estrogen or the way the progesterone is working. You’re on 100 so not likely low estrogen. So prob the progesterone. I’d push for GP app. Mine was low estrogen. Upped to 75 and seems to have settled

It’s interesting to read your post, OP, as I had painful day of bleeding y’day. It was 15 days since my last period started. I had all the symptoms I would normally get prior to/during my period, and it really threw me.

It is much lighter today, so not sure it will last long, but I really hope this isn’t the new ‘normal’ for me. There are a number of reasons why I may have experienced it (stressful few months/peri/PCOS/poss thyroid issues), but I will certainly be mentioning it when I speak to the GP next week.
