Im 63 and stopped the menopause completely years ago.
I've just lost all of my excess weight on mounjaro...5 stone and Im feeling pretty good.
However hot flushes only st night have suddenly resurrected after years of not having any.
Im sick of it and not getting any sleep, I have a very busy day job.
Im fine during the day but the second I lie down in bed they start.
I have no idea what's going on. Im so fed up.
Anyone got any ideas?

One thing to consider is that you might not be getting enough healthy fats in your diet. If you started weight loss injections, and have lost weight, you are presumably eating less, and may even have consciously cut down on eating dietary fat.
There are a number of hormones in the body that are made from dietary fat, which could be a possible cause of the hot flushes. Also, the sleep issues could be down to a lack of protein, melatonin, which helps with sleep is made from a specific amino acid found in protein.

Best wishes!

Carrying weight/ fat means your body produces more estrogen. (This is why being overweight is a big risk for breast and other female cancers.) Now you've lost the weight that's why your flushes are back.

You can start HRT at 63- that's not a problem- so have a think over how much your symptoms bother you. It's a very low dose and the risk isn't as high as being overweight.

Both of those things apply thanks. I think Ill go back on hrt and change my diet. I don't eat much fat at all. Food repulses me on MJ even on the low doses. I have half a stone left to lose then Im coming off it. I was perfectly happy on the lowest dose of hrt but my GP decided to take me off it.
