I’m 55. i’ve been monitoring my periods with an app as I felt cinstantly ‘on’. I have discovered I am bleeding regularly medium flow every 17 days for five days. I get my usual period symptoms of backache, bleeding gums, clicky shoulders and ankles for 48 hrs as I always have. Sometkmes I get ovulation pain in the middle of this period. I get crwamy discharge a few days beforehand.

i can set my watch by these oeriiods so it is not random bleeding.

i am on Utrogestan vaginally and 75mg evorel patches for 2 years now. Psychologically and mood wise i am fine.

prior to that i haf sevrral mirenas which caused ectropion and break through bleedjng so after several goes with it haf it removed. I was put on oral pgesterine, i lasted a week kn that with the blackest thoughts since PND. But Utrogestan suits me.

Occasiknal night sweats and wake at 3am 5/7 nights.

Does anyone else have this ussue?

Are you taking iron supplements? You're probably deficient bleeding that often which definitely won't be helping you feel better.

Dunno. But I had a 3m period in the spring. That was boring. GP prescribed the pill to regulate it. One month of noriday and I have had 2x 8 day periods and a 5-day periods in the last 4 weeks...

One more month and I can see if it's a reaction to starting a medication and will settle or go back for Hrt variety#17.

How much Utrogestan do you use?

If you're not post menopausal, you should be using the sequential dose of 200mgs x 12/14 days per month. In theory you should have a regular withdrawal bleed a few days after the last tablet.

If you're using only 100mgs (1 capsule) every day, that's only for women post meno- as it won't control your own cycle.

There is also some guidance that on a 75mcg patch you may need to increase the sequential dose from 200mgs to 300mgs , or the continuous combined dose to 200mgs a day to control the bleeds.

Does this sound like something you should discuss with your GP?

Thank you for your messages. Maybe I am on the wrong Utrogestan dose. I will take it up with my GP.
