Very late perimenopause?

Hi, I know I will need this checking by medical professionals, but just wondered if anyone experienced similar?
I'm 54. Last proper period was Feb 24. Then an incident of spotting happened Nov 24 - I didn't get it checked as I was within the 12 month time frame.
Fast forward 9 months to Aug this year and I started to feel like I was going to have my period (all the usual symptoms for me) - I had a very light bleed a few days later. Then the same 25 days later (followed my old cycle pattern). But now I've had some spotting 3 weeks later.
I was having hot flushes and night sweats, but they disappeared a couple of months ago.
Could this potentially be in v late peri still?

Yes I'd say so. I started on HRT when I was 55 as I was getting terrible hot flushes. Was still having periods, about 2 months apart. The hot flushes would disappear for 2 weeks then come back. I think because my hormones were going up and down. My mum also had a late menopause. If the average age for menopause is 52, then some women are going to reach it a few years later. It's all normal

It's not incredibly late. I didn't hit menopause until 55. It's quite common.

Thanks for your responses. Does it sound normal to have bleeds nine months apart? Even if it's only spotting

Yes it is really common. Anything after a year get checked out asap.

I don't think it's that late. I'll be 54 next month and still having full-on periods, though I've skipped one or two over the last 2 years and they are beginning to be sometimes a week early or a week late.

Thank you
