Cervical mass

Can anyone please help me understand what’s going on?

After a recent ultrasound - expected to confirm cervical erosion - a mass has been discovered on my cervix. Attached is a screen shot of the letter from my Meno Nurse which includes text of the sonographers report.
Obviously I know that it’s all likely to be fine etc etc. But the words & measurements in this are really scaring me.
I have other major long standing health complications and honestly don’t know how much more my body can take.
FYI I’m 58, approx 3 years post menopausal.

@fluffythecat1 that’s really good news.
Just had a call from Gynae team, Consultant has pulled the op forward as he “wants it dealt with”. So my previously lessened anxiety has started all over again! Pre-op next week, surgery the week after. Ah, life is full of surprises, eh?!

That is good, I had the same fear in having a hysteroscopy brought forward too, however you will get an answer sooner and will have your mind put to rest or will be able to get on with treatment as soon as possible. In my experience, nobody will want to say anything about it being cancer or not until they get it under a microscope and they can say for certain. Having medical staff on the ball like you have is a big win.

If you find that you are waiting a while for biopsy results, do ring the number on your paperwork. One of the medical secretaries read out the letter to me over the phone (it was the all clear), it took a further 2 weeks to get it in the post.

Thank you @fluffythecat1 ☺️

They shouldn't read out results because if there are issues where treatment is needed, they are not qualified to advise and it could be very upsetting.
There's no reason why results can't be sent more quickly- email to GP, not post!

Perhaps different specialisms/regions have different procedures, this was my experience. If treatment was required they would have called rather than have sent a letter- a very helpful lady on the Macmillan Cancer Care community page went through the same process as me at the same hospital and advised me of the above. I was grateful because it saved me two further weeks of waiting.
