What might the dr have been referring to?

Went for my smear yesterday and the Dr asked if I ever felt sore and said the tissue was ???? And I might need to add another pump of oestrogel. What might they have spotted? I was too busy getting dressed again to ask.

Friable?

Yes, that could have been it, definitely sounded something like that. Googling it tells me it means over sensitive. Is that a menopause thing or just a random thing?

They were probably talking about vaginal atrophy AKA GSM (genito symptoms of menopause.) Have a read up on it.

It's when everything gets thin and dry ( the tissues.)

They ought to have offered you vaginal estrogen - cream or a pessary- to insert.

Over 50% of women get it and that's an underestimate as many women never report it /seek help as they are embarrassed or don't know what it is or what it's called, or that it can be treated.

Thank you, I’ll look it up. We had already been discussing increasing the gel so was recommended to try that first. Will keep an eye and ask for cream/pessary if needed.
