looking for recommendations for natural supplements for anxiety.

I’m 4 years post menopause and not on HRT (mum, sister, auntie and cousin all had breast cancer so it’s not an option)

Ive managed symptoms well with diet and some supplements.

can anyone recommend natural supplements for anxiety which seems to be a relatively new things for me. I exercise regularly (run) and need to get back into regular yoga as I think that will help too.

If there was anything that worked you would know about it already.

What are you anxious about?

This is not exactly what you asked but you should be having genetic testing for the BRACa gene. Has your GP not suggested it- or have you not heard of it?
Regardless of HRT or not you need to be tested.

Prof Michael Baum ( eminent UK breast surgeon and expert- now in his 80s) has a video on exactly this on the British Menopause Society website .
He says any women with a strong history of BC needs to be tested.

It's important for you personally, but also if you have daughters or sons who could be at risk in the future- men from prostate cancer (linked to it.)

If you want a herbal treatment, St John's Wort can help but also maybe think about CBT for anxiety?

I’m in my 50s and completely understand anxiety wasn’t something I’d really dealt with until after menopause, and it can be quite unnerving. You’re already doing the right things with exercise and looking at yoga again – both really do make a difference.
On the supplement side, magnesium has helped me a lot, and I also take Ultra Magnesium from Turmeric Australia – turmericaustralia.com.au/products/ultra-magnesium-super-blend-150g. It supports relaxation, sleep and mood, and I notice I feel more settled on the days I take it consistently. Sometimes it’s just about small daily supports that calm the body so the mind can follow. You’re definitely not on your own with this.

I’ve found the combo of ashwagandha and magnesium really makes a difference for that wired-but-tired feeling. If you want something all-in-one, Her Balance from Nature’s Help has a nice mix of those ingredients and is made for exactly this stage of life:

I have struggled with persistent low level anxiety. I present a cool calm facade but underneath the anxiety is buzzing away.

I take magnesium and ashwagandha - its been amazing for me . It could be a placebo but the difference is so pronounced that I dont think it is. There has also been some medical literature on it which seems very positive.

I have been taking Doctor Seaweed supplements - specifically the menopause ones. I have noticed such a difference in my wellbeing. I am sleeping better, my energy is up and I feel less anxious overall. They are completely natural, I really recommend looking into them!
