Sick of burning up

I have finally given up and have come for all your wisdom. I’m 42(f) and on a night roughly the same time 4am ish I end up red hot, not sweaty just like a very hot broken radiator. It doesn’t matter what I wear to bed what bedding I use I end up red hot to the point I heat the bed and the room!
My DP is ND so temperature changes massively affect him. So once he wakes I wake and then we both struggle getting any more sleep. So my question is has anyone else had this? Is there some miraculous way to stop it or am I destined to just burn for eternity? 😵‍💫. I don’t particularly think I have any other peri menopause symptoms (although not really sure what to look for).
thanks in advance xx

It's a night sweat. very common and you may start having hot flushes in the day too, although you are on the young(er) side for this.

HRT will probably sort it so maybe list all the other symptoms you have (there are loads of lists online about peri symptoms) and think what you want to do.

This was one of my very few peri menopausal symptoms. I woke up hot and drenched in sweat and had to change my PJs a good few times a week. My only other symptom was flat mood. I was 40 when it first started and went to my GP a few times and she checked my hormones on the last visit (when I was 43) which showed I was definitely peri. I started HRT and it stopped the overheating within a week or soI would get it checked out sooner rather than later.

Hi, yup I had this too, I was early Peri & didn’t twig!
( done and dusted by 47!)
Speak to GP, lots of options but I found taking magnesium helped and a dog cooling mat… yup! The gel filled ones, popped that under my head / neck ( as that’s where I was hottest) cooled me down.
think about electrolytes too… with all the sweating, you need to replenish the salts etc
hope this helps x
