I keep seeing this cream recommended on the Menopause board and as I have some GSM symptoms thought I’d look into purchasing it online.

It says you have to be over 50 (which I am) and not had a period for at least 1 year, but I’m still having irregular periods.

The cream has been suggested to women still having periods so I guess I should just lie and say I’ve not had a period for at least a year?

If you got it from your GP the licensing is different- no age barrier and no need to be post meno. That would be your cheaper option but if seeing your GP is an issue there is this other way round it.

I honestly don't know why it's only sold to over 50s and post menopausal women considering menopause can happen in the 40s.

No idea what checks they do if you buy it online. You can also buy it in the shops- and women here have reported no questions asked.

Thanks for the reply. It appears you can only get it from Boots pharmacies - either online or in-store - and specifically says you have to be over 50 and postmenopausal.

I’ve just gone through the online process. You have to confirm your date of birth, if it’s been a year since your last period plus lots of other information about your symptoms.

Bumping in the hope someone might have some experience of this.

Just say it's a year since your last period. You're over 50 so your DOB is fine.

You can buy it at lots of other places online but it's the generic name of estriol cream 0.1%

Or see your GP if that's possible.

Thanks @JinglingSpringbellsi didn’t realise it had a generic name. I’ll take a look.
