Perimenopause/periods

What's the longest lasting period anyone has had in perimenopause?
I'm 52, still fairly regular but I've been on my period for 4 weeks now.
I've spoken to the doctor and she talked about an ultrasound but hasn't actually referred me for one . I've had a period lasting 3 weeks before and was given tablets to stop it which didn't work.
I don't have hot flushes

Oh goodness @Bogocz1, that’s horrible. Is your ultrasound scheduled yet? You really need to see an Ob/Gyn as well. Push your GP for an urgent referral.

I'm going to try to get an appointment at the doctor's on Monday, it's total triage now so it's all done online. I'm supposed to have a telephone appointment on the 10th about my hormones being through the roof but I'm going to push to see her in person. I can't go on like this and I'm never taking those tablets again

Ended up in a&e last week because I went to the doctor over a seven week period and she gave me Norethisterone tablets. She said as soon as you stop taking them your period will start. It did but OMG I've never known anything like it. Clots the size of golf balls and serious pain. A&E gave me more tablets to stop the bleeding but only a weeks supply, just finished those and I'm back to clots and flooding again

@Bogocz1 haven't you pushed for an ultrasound?
This could possibly be solved by removing fibroids etc

You can get Transexamic Acid which stops bleeding without the moods swings from Norehistetone.

It's possible that your ferritin is through the floor which leads to exhaustion and low immune system and hair loss/poor nail growth.

Did GP do check for Anaemia? Are you taking iron tablets?

I would absolutely not put up with that much bleeding. I went on HRT when I started getting three periods in 6 weeks when I was 43.

They've done full bloods, not anemic, fsh is through the roof. Telephone appointment on the 10th and a non urgent referral for an ultrasound. I'm going to try for a face to face appointment on Monday morning to talk about what's happening.

This really heavy bleeding and clots only started after I stopped the tablets. I originally went because I'd been on for 7 weeks with no signs of stopping, it wasn't this bad then, it was as soon as I finished the course that she she gave me that the flooding and clots started

Have you seen your blood results?

I wasn't ever told I was anaemic, but my meno bleeding wasn't as bad as yours and eventually I was told I had non anaemic iron defficiency.

I always get a copy of the results now!

Yes, I have the NHS app and all test results are on there, my fsh levels are through the roof which I'm supposed to be having a telephone appointment about but I'll be pushing for face to face.
All of this started because she gave me Norethisterone to stop a 7 week period. It's the withdrawal bleeding but I can't take the tablets forever and never stop

Scan set for the 17th September, doctor says she will ask if they can do it sooner or book me in if there is a cancellation.
I am anaemic now so she's given me iron tablets, she's also given me transamic acid tablets in case I come on heavy again

Do agencies check with an employer about people they are recruiting?
I was sacked last December from a company id worked for for 28yrs, I was late back from breaks , had my phone on me and forgot to wash my hands.
I've been contacted by an agency about a job there, different department, and I don't know what to do, I'm currently working as an aircraft cleaner on nights, which I don't like, but I've been doing it for 6 months now.
I want to get off nights but I'm wondering if the company will have been informed and have said ok and if not will they get rid of me when and if they realise?
