Hi, I’m 55; been on HRT for years, last July after having a coil fitted to help with heavy bleeding, it fell out as I was bleeding that heavily.
dr put me on the gel and progesterone tablets (3 pumps and 1 tablet, at night)
All has been well since, until 2 weeks ago when I had horrendous period pain ( so bad it woke me up) and I’ve been bleeeding ever since.
i REALLY don’t want to go back again to my gp, as it’s obviously hormonal rather than a period, if it’s something as simple as increasing the dose of something.
Im utterly done in with this nonsense now, and wondered if anyone thinks I should up my oestrogel or my progesterone?
Obviously I’m not asking for medical advice from anyone unqualified, but it seems such an easy answer, but I don’t know what the answer is.
Thanks for any advice.

Medical info here.

The guidance is to either reduce your gel to 2 pumps or increase Utrogestan to 200mgs a day.

You will need to read through the pages to find the part that discusses heavy bleeding or irregular bleeding on HRT and how to adjust the hormones.

However, as it 's been a year since you had your coil removed it might be a good idea to see your GP and at least have a scan for reassurance and then change your doses.
