Positive Experiences of Evorel Conti?

After four years of asking for HRT, I was finally prescribed yesterday. I have had no periods for around four years but meno symptoms were showing no signs of tailing off. The worst (for me) being mood swings, weight gain and cripplingly sore joints. I get the odd hot flush but I can deal with that.

GP finally agreed that risks outweigh benefits for me (managed hypertension and a heart 'episode' in 2020) and has given me Evorel Conti.

I obviously did a quick google when I got home and read a lot of posts from people on it complaining about low mood, bloating, bleeding etc. I know everyone is different but I had been feeling so buoyant - like there was light at the end of the tunnel - and it left me feeling deflated. So does anyone have some good experiences? Particularly around joint pain?

And as an aside, I had been taking Vit D and Turmeric for joint pain and was starting to get an inkling that it was helping. GP wouldn't get into a conversation about supplements and said that she wasn't able to advise. As ever Google throws up conflicting advice on whether it's ok to take Turmeric with HRT so any advice on that would also be really welcome.

Thanks!

I took it for a while and bled like a stuck pig. Then you end up going down loads of investigations route. Agreed to stop it and all the symptoms stopped.
I didn’t, and probably should have, persue another form of hrt.

I think conti is definitely worth a trial.
I've seen loads of great reviews. Unfortunately didn't suit me as I had continuous spotting but I think that's because I'm peri not post and when I spoke to a different doctor they definitely disagreed with the first doctor putting my on a continuous regime.
Logistically it was much better than separate gel and utrogestan so it's definitely worth a go as if you only have spotting at the start and then it clears up it's so easy to use.

Thanks @Spiral1033 I'm on day two and full of rage - hoping this is an 'adjustment' thing!

I’m a walking advert for it - better than the gels which preceded it IME. Give it time, it can take a few weeks to “settle”.

Keep a diary of symptoms so that you can track any patterns in case you do need to go back for an alternative product but mainly give it some time.

Hello, I am six weeks in and in first weeks felt worse, so down and teary. However this past week I am seeing light. I’m afraid to say too much just yet but feel a lightening of the doom. Sadly no improvement in neck pain but that might be a whole different story. I hope your rage lifts and in my experience the mood became worse before it got better. My GP said he didn’t think this was a thing but Dr Google suggests otherwise. Stick at it for 12 weeks as advised and let’s hope for the best!
