Has anyone stopped intermittent fasting and felt better?

I have been IF 16:8 for the past 5 years or so and ut suits my lifestyle well. However I understand it places extra stress on the body and may cause menopausal weight gain. I am peri and in my late 40’s. Has anyone switched from IF to eating more regulalry and felt better?

I've never heard of it causing stress on the body. I thought that applied only to the 5:2 diet?

Why not try a different window, like 14/10?

Last meal at 6pm, next meal at 8am?

The advice I follow is that 14 hours is ideal for gut health but an hour or so either way is fine too.

Yes. We sleep was terrible and anxiety symptoms which doing 16/8 and on HRT. Did my research (Mel Robbins podcast with nutritionist) and for past week have went back to 3 meals a day, high protein based. Have slept straight through every night since…

No changes in weight yet. I have resolved to be ok with any increase as my focus is now on sleep leading to energy which is allowing me to be more active.

This is interesting. I’ve also been doing IF (ranging between 14:6 up to even 36 hours, but mainly 16:8) for a couple of years. However, I have been reconsidering this. I’m a healthy weight/BMI, aged 42 but have gained a few pounds over the last year, and struggling to understand why. I’ve heard a few things that IF is not necessarily helpful for women, (especially if they are not particularly overweight). I’m following this thread with interest.
