Menopause red skin

Hi I seem to be developing a ruddy, red face. My skin has always had a bit of a red tinge but it’s getting worse and now feels sensitive too. I drink, but only socially and not to excess. My mum had a red face in middle age but she drank more than I do. It may be worse due to this dry weather. I’m early 40s. Any recommendations for skincare regime-moisturisers etc? Thank you!

Erborian red correct is amazing stuff. Totally worth the £££.

Is it rosacea? Might be worth looking into x

Thank you! Just looked this up. Do you mean ‘Erborian CC Red Correct - Colour Correcting Anti-Redness Cream With Soothing Effect SPF25 45ml’ or another of their products? Thanks!

Ideally you need to see a dermatologist (most likely privately unless you're lucky as the wait can be 2 years on the NHS.) If it's rosacea there are prescription meds you can use.

Clinique do a range of creams for red skin.

Exactly , that’s the one . It’s so good, often recommended on Mumsnet for good reason!

Thanks everyone. After a bit of googling, it may well be rosacea so I will look at that but the red correct looks a good option in the meantime

I get drying off the skin and it goes red and patchy. My friend who is a dermatologist and she told me not to get anything expensive just some clean and clear exfoliation face wash and some epiderm from boots it’s only £3.25. Honestly in3 weeks my skin is lovely again. I feel guilty every time l see my jars and lotions and potions.

Thank you. I actually have some epiderm for my son so I’ll have a go!

I have rosacea and perimenopausal skin and the Ren Evercalm Recovery balm has been brilliant for me - and lasts ages, I get a full winter out of the small travel size. It’s obviously more expensive but might be an option if you want something with a more natural set of ingredients. https://www.renskincare.co.uk/collections/shop-all/products/evercalm-overnight-recovery-balm

I suffer from flushed red face when stressed, caffeine and alcohol are also triggers. It is super embarrassing at work because I look flustered even when I am not. It is really annoying but going to try the Eborian cream hopefully this can help as well as avoiding the caffeine and alcohol triggers.

Ok so far so good with the Eborian CC red correct, hoping that this withstands the working day test, if I can at least avoid looking like a red faced, flushed batty crazy woman by the end of the day it will be my saviour.

Haha I think I am a batty crazy woman anyway! Good luck. I’ve just bought some and think it makes me look a little ghost faced but it does cover the red!

So initially it seemed to work and even skin tone but flushing has led to dry blotchy patches by end of the day. I’m think resigned to the red faced batty lady look!

I’m sure there is power to be had in the batty lady look - no one will want me mess with you!
