Please tell me about Estring

What have your experiences of Estring been? How does it compare with Vagifem?

I'm on Mirena plus 3 pumps Oestrogel, but often need just a bit more help with vaginal atrophy. I'm fine down there in day-to-day life, but not when I have sex. I've used Ovestin in the past. It's effective, but I find it uncomfortable to use, so I don't really use it often enough, and then both of us lose out when we get cuddly. I like the idea of just putting something up there and forgetting about it for 3 months. I used to use a mooncup, so am not worried about the activities of insertion and removal.

Would it be reasonable to ask my GP to prescribe Estring?

I started with Estring a few months ago & it's the best decision i made. I tried Vagifem initially but it gave me horrendous migraines so stopped within a few days. Ovestin made me really itchy & sore so changed to the 0.01% cream which was fine. However, i hated having to use the cream each week, it's messy and inconvenient. My doctor suggested the Estring and it's been nothing but miraculous. Sorted out all my issues immediately. And its so convenient too - just changing it every 10 weeks or so. It was super easy to insert & take out. I cannot recommend it enough.

Similar.
Started on oestrogel pump and utrogestan. That was way too much for me in terms of side effects.
Moved to ovestin which worked to a degree - I guess I could have asked to use it every day but, like others, found it a faff and didn't like how wasteful it was. Moved to eString about 3 months ago and very happy with it. I was worried about being able to remove it but actually that's been very easy when I've practised. I'm due a new one imminently so hopefully replacing will be very easy too.

This is very encouraging!
