Progesterone help!

I’m 56 and recently started oestrogel and progesterone tablets. I take 2 pumps of gel a day but confused about progesterone. The label says take one daily on days 1 to 25 of cycle. Do I assume I have a 28 day cycle so take tablets for 25 days and 3 days break then start tablets again for 25 days. I took Femiston before so feeling confused! Am I taking the progesterone correctly?

Are you still having a period? I don’t, so I take my progesterone daily. A friend doesn’t, so she takes it part of the month. But I’m pretty sure it’s not 25 out of 28 days?

Yes NHS website says take for 25 days and then have a 3 day break.

If it's been less than 12 months since your last period it's take double the amount for 14 days and then have 14 days break.

It also says some people take it every day without a break it their doctor has said that but it doesn't specify how they decide that rather than having a 3 day break.

Thank you for replying. Think I need a chat with doctor to confirm. Previously taking femiston conti so I was having a withdrawal bleed. I’m 56 so pretty sure periods would have stopped

Taking it every day now has been the case for many years.
The 25 days a month is 'old style' and now it's every day if you're post-meno.
The leaflet and the NHS website are out of date.

The website Menopause Matters covers this (written by an NHS consultant) on the pages for HRT/Types.
