Itching

I have widespread itchiness.

Is this perimenopause related?

It seems to worsen just before ovulation and period.

I do have hand eczema so I can explain that and some itchy seborrheic keratoses but that itch is specific to them.

Any had itchiness?

What has helped?

Anti-histamines can help. If it’s recent it might be impacted /exacerbated by hayfever. People can get it later in life. Good luck in any case.

Thanks. I do get hayfever but it usually just effects my eyes! I hadn't even thought of that connection!

Have you had a recent liver function test? Itchiness can be caused by liver issues.

Last one was about a year ago. That would have other symptoms wouldn't it?

I itched for years during peri and menopause. Drove me insane. Antihistamines and E45 anti itch cream gave me some release

I am under derm care but I am also noticing that i'm far itchier and drier on days 11-13 of my cycle, and just before my period. I think I'm having a mild autoimmune reaction to the hormone surges.

Mine was eczema. Had it all my life but was manageable until peri, then the itching drove me insane, also had lots of rashes. Got tested for every allergy but nothing obvious. Am now on Duplimab fortnightly injections. Game changer, no itching, no rash, no eczema at all.

I'm so conscious of my skin recently.

Lots of tiny bumps, lumps and tiny seborrheic keratoses seem to be appearing.

I expect this is due to fluctuating hormones at my time of life!

The changing skin seems to be effecting me and I'm thinking about it, touching it and looking for more.

It's the seborrheic keratoses that are causing me the most angst as they are quite noticeable. They are itchy in themselves too.
