Itchy face

For the past 8 weeks on and off I have had an itchy rash on my left cheek slightly on my right .

I am going through the menopause, actually post menopause.

I have a history of hand eczema ( currently in great remission) as I totally stoped steroids

I never had facial eczema.

Went to the doctors and to be honest no help . Nice enough doctor but basically thinks it’s eczema migrating . Just recommended to carry on using moisturiser etc , obviously can’t put steroid on my face .

It subsided a bit for a couple of weeks and now it’s back with a vengeance.

As someone well used to itch with eczema this itch is off the scale it’s absolutely intense .

I have not changed any products, I haven’t changed foods ( I know allergies can start at any time ) but nothing I can think of .

Antihistamine isn’t cutting it .

I am taking a lot of flushes and wondered if is this as in like a prickly heat idea ?

It’s making my face nip and sting and I am trying so hard not not scratch but I am rubbing it .

I am really stressed this is going to be a chronic thing and can’t see an end .

Anyone especially menopausal been through this , I know it may not be connected but I am stuck .

As I said the itch is like I have been in contact with a poisonous plant feeling .

I mentioned lupus to the doctor given the location but she wasn’t convinced the rash was wide enough on my face .

Please help anyone ?

I'm in meno and have been getting psoriasis patches for the first time in random places.

Apparently, and I did read this somewhere - these things flare up in your early 20s and again in your early 50s.

Marvellous isn't it?

My GP gave me some hydrocortisone which didn't touch it.

Then I got this weird rash (mmm) and was in Dermatology having a suspect BCC removed, I thought whilst I'm here with the expert...

She didn't know and then said it might fungal (thanks!) but... I had some canes ten, put that on and it worked a treat!

Worth a try!

I occassionally have rashes and redness on my face before and after periods and even now. I use natural aloe vera gel and sunflower oil to sooth and moisturize because it forms small white scabs after 2-3 days of redness and rashes.
