Estradot alternatives - could it not be working?

I'm usuly on Estradot 100 but can't get it for love nor money.

I'd previously tried Evorel but the glue is too itchy.

This time I've been given Estraderm and have been on it for 2.5 weeks and my anxiety (my most problematic symptom) is coming back. I'm wondering if it's just a coincidence - I do have a lot on at the moment - or if it could be the change in patch?

Has anyone else had issues switching from one patch to another? If so, did it settle down? Not sure what to do for the best.

My GP has prescribed Femseven (oestrogen only) as an alternative. She says it's quite an old one - I'd not heard of it before. Is anyone on this?

I take 2x uterogestan continuously (endometriosis prescription) for my progesterone.

I'm not super keen on the gel as I'm on a high dose so lots of it to put on every night.

Yes I find some patches are better than others. Most do work for me but I was given evorel once as an alternative to estradot and my symptoms came back I just don't think I was absorbing it through their patches and it kept coming off which obviously didn't help

I have been reading about the Estradot shortage with increasing alarm. I have been on Estradot for 6 months and it has completely changed my life. I have switched to Estraderm and the anxiety is creeping back as well as the brain fog, fatigue, lack of interest in anything, stomach issues, joint pain and difficulty sleeping.

I can't offer anything except sympathy I am afraid.

Me too. Switched reluctantly from estradot (which I felt great on) to Evorel. All of a sudden about a week in a felt all the old feelings of anxiety and panic return and my sleep wasn’t as good either. I’ve settled down a bit this week but don’t feel as good as before.

So frustrating when you have your HRT finally right and they run out!

Maybe I’m not absorbing Evorel as well but I’m not really supposed to be on higher doses so until I have a blood test in a few months there’s nothing I can do.

I had loads of issues switching between patch brands, and eventually convinced my GP to put Estradot specifically on the prescription.

Since it’s now unavailable, I have started using gel. This is working pretty well for me, fortunately.

If things don’t improve I may consider switching to a gel. I am quite forgetful though - I can just about remember to change my patch twice a week.‘I keep forgetting to use my testosterone gel!

Thanks for the responses, I'm feeling OK now but I don't like the precariousness of it all. It's rubbish after you've found something reliable to have to switch.

I found that both Estradot and Evorel worked for me in terms of managing symptoms but I am allergic to the glue on Evorel and it brings me out in a really itchy rash. I don't get on with the gel, I don't absorb it nearly as well.

I am getting very twitchy about the lack of Estradot patches and trying to eke out my supply as much as I can until hopefully the supply issues resolve themselves.

Hmm I have a phone appointment booked with a Menopause specialist nurse tomorrow to discuss possible alternatives to the Estraderm but I have had a much better day today. I don't feel as anxious or tired. I will keep the appointment but I am really hoping this means that thing are settling down!
