Any tips how to get this and how much you pay roughly for prescription / for the tablets?

I have a repeat prescription on NHS and this has massively helped vaginal dryness (late 40s). But only if used daily. Now NHS have queried frequency and denied latest request.

I now have a phone appointment with GP booked but looking for a prescription to tide me over for the next weeks until appointment, also plan B if they don’t approve daily use.

You can purchase online without a prescription I’ve done so in the past from Oxford pharmacy. It’s slightly more expensive than private Gp but works cheaper if you add in the fee to speak with private GP or menopause specialists .

Thank you. that would be convenient. I’ll try but isn’t there an age cutoff of 50‘years? Not quite there yet.

The online price is around £28 I think.

If you have a private prescription from a private dr, the actual cost at a pharmacy (not online) is around £8-£9.

All my HRT is private and I've paid for Ovestin for years.

But of course you need to factor in the cost of the consultation.
If you can see a private GP who's willing to do this, their fee could be anything from £50-£100.

If you need private prescriptions often, you'd need to ask if they would charge you for writing one (fees vary.)

Another route to consider is if you need to think about systemic HRT because some women need both (systemic and vaginal.)

Thanks, that's v helpful to know about pricing structure. I will have a first chat about systemic with GP in the appointment in a few weeks (not many other symptoms atm after hot flushes)

Happy to note though I messaged GP practice again asking to approve a prescription to tide me over until the review and they did right away.
