Switching from Mirena coil to Slynd for hrt.

Hi,
I am thinking about having my Mirena coil removed as the weight gain and bloating has been insane. My menopause doctor has recommended Slynd for progesterone replacement.
Have any of you switched from Mirena to the progesterone mini pill? What is your experience?
Thanks

Why not Utrogestan, body identical progesterone used for hrt?

It depends if you need contraception @Olemar ..
The mini pill in a higher off-licence dose can do both- part of HRT and contraception.

Utrogestan can't be used as contraception.

Thank you for your answers, what is the “better” progesterone of the two?

Id love some more info on this please as I am about to get my mirena coil replaced and wondered if there is another option - any advice greatly appreciated

Slynd was recommended to me as an alternative progesterone to Mirena Coil by the doctor at a menopause clinic. I heard it was hard to get hold of as it is a newish mini pill and Gp’s weren’t familiar with it.
At the moment, I had my coil removed but I am not taking the mini pill so I cannot comment any further.
My coil made me really bloated and gained a lot of weight, even though it worked very well for everything else.

Thank you @Olemar - yes I have put on weight and am also bloated but I think its not just the coil to blame - general hormone fluctuation and an increased appetite certainly is what is to blame in my case - I've recently heard the term 'food noise' following the release of Ozempic etc and it really resonated - food was never such a focus for me until the Menopause hit. Just need to find another focus/distraction. Anyway, I digress, thank you - I actually had a call from my Dr's yesterday and have booked in to just get it replaced and that will take me to 55 which is apparently when the need to re-evaluate HRT becomes significant so will continue to research until that time! All the best for your journey also and thank you for responding.
