Periods becoming more painful- peri menopause?

I’m 37 and my periods have become increasingly irregular over the last couple of years with cycles ranging from 23 days to 29. I’ve also been struggling with lack of motivation/wanting to sleep all of the time but not able to sleep at night and brain fog.
My GP ruled out peri menopause at my last appointment as I am apparently to young and did a blood test which showed vitamin d deficiency so am now taking supplements for this.

However in the last couple of months my periods have become unbearably painful.
They have always been painful but manageable with co codamel.
I’ve come on yesterday and taken co codamel with ibuprofen but couldn’t sleep because of the pain. Today, I’ve been lying on the sofa with a hot water bottle but nothing is touching it. It’s so bad I cannot move and feel like I’m going to throw up!
I’m going to make a GP appointment next week but Google says that hormonal changes or premature ovarian failure before 40 can cause periods to become increasingly more painful.
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this?
I genuinely don’t know how I can cope with this every month!

Honestly it can be many different things so don't assume peri. Just go to the GP and expect to be referred to a gynecologist.

FWIW in my case it was fibroids and I was about 10-15 years older than you and even them was having periods at 55 ... (And they only stopped then because I had a mirena coil fitted.)
