Official sources of info on HRT - UK & beyond

Am interested in finding ‘official’ sources of information and options about HRT etc. To inform my decisions. Eg health and doctors’ bodies, charities.

Also wondering if some info varies between countries. (have some ‘baggage’ with UK health system. Eg ‘gatekeeping’ access to some specialists / treatments presumably for cost reasons).

So far have found this NICE guidance (UK) https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng23/resources/communicating-the-benefits-and-risks-of-hrt-13553196013 Doesn’t look to include v much info on medium to long term risks/benefits.

The best thing to do is google the questions you have - key words- then select papers and statements from the IMS (international menopause society), the BMS, British Menopause Society and WHC- women's health concern (patient version of the BMS.)

The BMS has videos which very few people seem to know exist.

There is not a lot of long term data simply because the trials haven't been done and if so they omit the use of micronised progesterone and are based on observational studies of HRT with the older types of HRT.

The only study (again, observational) on micronised progesterone is one in France, the E3N study.https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2211383/ Done some years ago.

Oh wow, thank you @JinglingSpringbells !

Have tried googling but found it hard to trail through articles etc to find quality info sources: wasn’t aware of the ones you’ve kindly posted.

My nutritionist friend recommends "the million women study".
I can't have HRT as my mum had breast cancer.

University study (Oxford) about cancer risk & HRT.
