HRT for 5 years - time to stop?

I have been on hrt for 5 years; I'd say it's suited me but I am now starting to experience symptoms on it like night sweats, achy muscles... Does this mean it's time to stop altogether or time to adjust it/increase it? In parallel with this I am bleeding every other week. Initially a polyp was removed (2 moths ago) but I am still bleeding every other week, and now I am not sure if it's from healing after the procedure, or it's the same bleeding I had before the polyp was removed.
I do have a GP appointment next week but I wanted to gather some opinions/information.

What type of HRT are you on?

I had bleeding on the combined patch. It stopped for about 6 months after I had some polyps removed but started up again. I'm now on seperate oestrogen patch and progesterone tablet no bleeding so far. When I googled it, bleeding on the combined patch seems to be quite common.

How old are you? Are you now menopausal or still in peri? Bleeding needs to be investigated especially if you're in menopause. I know some women stop HRT but there is a lot of research now that suggests we stay on it well into our old age to help with bone density, brain and heart health etc. My mum is early 70s and still on it. If you're now experiencing symptoms it's likely your dose needs to be tweaked. Is your GP knowledgeable on HRT & women's health?

I am 55 so well in menopause. The bleeding got investigated initially and that's when the polyp was removed (clear biopsy). 2 months on and I don't know if the bleeding is still from healing from the op or something else. GP aware, seeing them next week. I am on Evorel 75, Utrogestan 100 (one every night), and estradiol vaginal cream.

Because you're on a higher dose patch, and bleeding, it's recommended that you either increase the Utrogestan to 200mgs day or try another form of HRT. You could have a combined patch that is estrogen +Norethisterone which is a synthetic progestin and stronger than Utrogestan.

Your return of symptoms suggest your estrogen is too low and it may be that you aren't absorbing it from the patch. You could try a 100mcg patch and that would definitely need 200mgs Utrogestan. or you could consider the mirena coil.

You won't be bleeding now from the op.
I had a hysteroscopy and biopsy and had no bleeding at all from the procedure.

You won't know how far you into menopause unless your periods had stopped for year at least prior to using HRT.

Thank you @JinglingSpringbells. What does the mirena coil do? I was offered it when I had my hysteroscopy but I hate the idea of having a foreign object inside of me, and the possibility of more intimate invasive procedures if something goes wrong with it.
