Early menopause? Are these peri symptoms?

The ladies in my family have early menopause.

Since the birth of my last child a year ago everything's gone whack and it seems to be getting worse..but in a cycle type pattern.

Every month now I get a week long headache, then aura migraine.

My regular clockwork periods aren't.

I'm constantly tierd, really emotional and irritable. (Through certain times, I do get ok days but out the blue I feel really..hormonal)

Sudden sweats, where i feel like I'm burning up, it's so uncomfortable I want to literally rip my clothes off. Given its the middle of winter I can't blame the weather.

When I do get a period they are awful. I'm talking vomiting, exhaustion. I never ever used to even get a cramp.

Also some other awful things is that my gums suddenly don't seem very good (I'm rather embarrassed as I've never had a problem before and used to be complimented)

I'm hairy..chin hairs, mustache.

Could this be early menopause? Or does anyone recognise any of this with something?

I don't even know how to explain this to a GP or if they will just brush it off? I'm a bit embarrassed tbh and worried they'll blame anxiety 😅

Hi,

Those certainly sound like common symptoms. Have a look at the Newson Clinic online as they have a long list and also an app that you can use to track your symptoms which you can then use to guide a conversation with your GP.
Ask your GP reception team if there is a menopause specialist at the practice, and ask for a second opinion if you do get fobbed off. I think it's still very hit and miss in terms of GP training. I had a great GP who took me seriously aged 38. I then moved towns a few years later and my new GP hasn't been helpful and won't prescribe exactly what my previous GP did in terms of HRT. But there's lots of resources online which helped me - Davina McCall's book, Dr Louise Newson's podcast etc.
good luck! It's the pits but it got a lot better for me once I got the right support.
