Is it perimenopause?

Since having my third child nearly 2 years ago I've been having various symptoms that I initially put down do hormone changes etc with pregnancy and post-partum but now they are continuing I'm beginning to question further. I mentioned some of them in passing to a colleague and she suggested perimenopause. However I'm only 33, which I thought was a bit young. I am planning on trying to get a GP appointment to discuss my symptoms (wish me luck!) but thought I'd post on here and see what people thought in the meantime. The symptoms I've been experiencing are:

Horrendous brain fog I lose my train of thought, can't find words that I want to describe something.
Night sweats
Heavier periods and longer periods, although still regular
Reduced sex drive (could happily go pretty much without it tbh and not from lack of finding my DH attractive.)
Irritability/mood swings
Skin changes - spotty face and back
Weight gain

Could this be perimenopause at 33? I know that older women often have difficulty getting perimenopause symptoms acknowledged as such by GPs so I feel I'd have no luck at my age

It can happen early - as it did for Naomi Watts the actress. Really you need to get to the doctor and insist on tests. Something is up!

I think too much is blamed on peri menopause. Speak to your doctor.

Thank you. I get the point about lots of things being blamed on peri and I do think I'm probably too young so much more likely to be something else. I absolutely will be getting a GP appointment, unfortunately at my GP managing to get one is like finding a needle in a haystack so likely to be a while before I manage that. In the meantime my mind is going down a rabbit hole, now I've taken opened that can of worms rather than assuming it was pregnant/post-partum/breastfeeding related.

Once you do battle through and get an appointment ask them to check your bloods for:

Thyroid
iron
b12
vit D

wishing you the best x

I wouldn't say it perimenopause. Your child is only two and your hormones are still not balanced. You're probably tired too with a toddler hence brain fog etc.
get some blood tests done and speak to your GP xx
