I've decided to go on HRT however I'm not sure if the HRT that I'd get prescribed from the NHS is just a standard one size fits all prescription. I'm 44 and in peri menopause (symptoms + blood tests where one of my hormones was high; I can't remember which one as the blood tests were some time ago). However I do believe that I have low progesterone. Blood tests in the past have confirmed this, although this didn't show up on the last test, or at least the GP didn't mention it. I've also had 5 miscarriages in the past and the only pregnancy which stuck and resulted in my little one was where I was supplementing with progesterone. This prescription was advised by a consultant at the early miscarriages clinic due to a study that said that progesterone may have positive outcomes on pregnancy and prevention of loss.
So I'm unsure if I'd need a type of HRT that gives me extra progesterone? Can any women who are knowledgeable in this area maybe provide some thoughts?
