mix and match patches?

I normally use Estradot patches. They suit me very well, I tried gel and did not get on with it. Last week I had a HRT review with the practice nurse which was all good and she put through a repeat prescription for me, although she put it through as "estradiol patches" rather than Estradot - and the pharmacy has sent Evorel.

Now I used Evorel in the past and although they sorted the symptoms, I was very sensitive to the glue and they brought me out in a rash. I am trying to get the GP to re-prescribe but obviously 3 boxes of Evorel unused is a massive waste of money and they are not keen. Could I alternate - use an Evorel patch for 4 days, then an Estradot - to use these nasty Evorel patches up and keep my skin from being too itchy?

I don't really see any reason not to, but you lot are the experts!

The active ingredient is the same so yes you could mix and match. I also find the glue on non-estradot patches makes me itch. Urgh, hopefully the non-specific prescription is so if estradot is out of stock, the pharmacy can prescribe alternatives.

I don't think it's that the estradot was out of stock, just that the prescription was for the generic and they gave me what they had.

Anyway, it's academic as within 12 hours of sticking the patch on my skin was red and itchy so the evorel is in the bin and I'm using what I have of estradot, if the GP won't represcribe, I'll just buy privately.
