Is forgetfulness a symptom of peri?

Just that really.

Yes. Have a chat with your GP about testosterone.

tofuprincess · 24/11/2024 09:39

Yup.

Jasmin71 · 24/11/2024 10:50

Yes, it was for me. But, only short term memory. Also, finding the correct nouns in general conversation. Everything was a "wotsit" or a "thingy"

Delorian · 24/11/2024 10:53

I can't tell if I'm in peri or just at a life stage when I am responsible for remembering everything in the world.

Yeah this is what I'm wondering

VintedoreBay · 24/11/2024 11:07

My mum must still be in peri … ! “ She’s been a “Wotzername?” user for as long as I can remember.

Calliopespa · 24/11/2024 11:14

… can’t think what I was about to post …

Radionowhere · 24/11/2024 11:15

Yes. It's awful.

VintedoreBay · 24/11/2024 11:18

Arguing a lot lately with DH about things one of us has forgotten...but I was adamant it isn't me (DH has always had a self-proclaimed remembering problem), and then it dawned on me....perhaps it IS me? 😫

DH with remembering problems. Hmm. DH that's got off with delegating the remembering more like. He can take over now OP. You have a medical condition....💅🏻

Twoshoesnewshoes · 24/11/2024 11:23

Omg it’s so bad. Had dinner with four friends of similar age last week-
‘ you know that film, with thingy in it?’
oh, erm, she was in…that thing with the bloke who was a vicar?’
yes, the one with what’s her name… she wrote, erm…with the girl with the long hair, ummm’
etc etc
took us half an hour to get to Andrew Scott 😂
definitely at least partly peri for me - late forties, empty nest, work easier, so im
not otherwise as overloaded as I have been.

Soupwithstring · 24/11/2024 11:39

Names and nouns. Horrific.

Testosterone makes no difference. Been using it for a year. Absolutely desperate for sex so that's great, but no difference to brain fog.

Sounds like a phone call with my mum - 70’s! So maybe we don’t move through it

rewilded · 24/11/2024 11:50

I hate it. I used to have impeccable spelling and grammar now I struggle to spell simple words - throw yesterday!Confused

rewilded · 24/11/2024 11:52

I hate that I can't remember book titles, authors, actors, films etc they will come to me but an hour after the conversation has finished!
