This may be a bit way out as I'm only 34, but I do know that early (as in, 30s) menopause runs in my family. Rare, I know, but two aunts and one cousin have had it.

Considered name changing but ah, what the hell!

Last baby was 4 and a half years ago, still breastfeeding her although if I'm honest I'm not sure she even gets much/anything although she swears she does. It's only a few minutes here and there now.

Periods restarted after about 9 months postpartum; regular, normal, no issues. Around September last year I began passing massive clots during periods. Fleshy things that made me think of miscarriages I've had. I was investigated and no issues; they gave me an internal scan and found nothing. That went on for a while and still occasionally happens now.

Periods changed and sometimes I was having one twice a month. Very painful, heavy, bad bloating and horrendous moodswings. I've also noticed my appetite is worse than it's ever been (as in, not much at all), my anxiety is up, and I'm really quite emotional especially during ovulating. Sometimes I can't even stomach breakfast. Tastes I used to like are shifting?

TMI, but I've always had a very high sex drive but lately I've become a right nympho. 😳 Thankfully, DH is more than willing to oblige but I feel like it's puberty 2.0! It's almost annoying me - especially during ovulation!

No hot flushes, but I do have Raynauds, controlled anaemia, and coeliac disease. Always had them but the Raynauds means I'm always bloody cold, plus I'm thinner than usual due to a lack of appetite.

I'm not on any hormonal birth control and DH is snipped. There's no pregnancy or anything.

I have booked a GP appointment, but it's not until next week, and I'd like to be armed. I feel I got brushed off last time I complained about symptoms.

Thank you for reading and I'd love to hear any advice - even if it isn't perimenopause, if any one has any other ideas then please do let me know. I've done my own research but opinions of other women are massively helpful.

I should add; my sleep is all over the place. I've always been a bit prone to insomnia, but now I'm either awake all night or falling asleep before I can even turn the light off. I've noticed an increase in heart palpitations, too. They happen even when I'm not slugging back coffee.

Diet is excellent (when I can eat it), and I get plenty of exercise as well as working out (yoga and cycling). I don't eat meat but I do eat a lot of fish, plenty of vegetables, and all meals are homecooked. Rarely drink, don't smoke. I must fill my bottle of water at least five times a day. No skin complaints, hair and nails all fine. Dodgy digestion. Some days I wake up still feeling full from dinner.

I do occasionally notice a tight pain/feeling in my pelvis like I'm clenching my muscles. Not sure if this is related. Usually just try and do some yoga poses/meditation/breathing exercises. DD's birth was assisted with forceps and an episiotomy, but all seems fine down there and I healed nicely. No incontinence or anything at all. Older DS was an easy peasy birth with not even a tear.

Not sure if any of this is relevant.

Very good info here.
Have a read and ask your GP to refer you to a gynaecologist who deals with POI.

You are an absolute star, I didn't know this existed. Thank you so much.
