Oestrogel & progesterone - how to you use it?

Title is supposed to say - how DO you use it?
Having started peri 6 years ago (aged 39) and going back and forth to the GP with my symptomsgettingworse & worse, I have finally got HRT.
I've been given Oestrogel and progesterone tablets (Zentiva).
I was just wondering if anyone finds this combination particularly effective if they use it in a specific way. I've read some people use it at night, others in the morning and some take one progesterone tablet in the morning and another in the evening.

Have you found a way that works best for you?
I don't sleep well & wake every morning feeling drained and exhausted so I'm wondering if evening might be best. However, I also have extreme tiredness/lack of energy, complete lack of interest/motivation,my body aches, anxiety, awful brain fog and so much more.
My hot flushes have currently subsided but when I have them they happen constantly throughout the day & night.

Any advice/guidance would be very grateful received as the anxiety I'm feeling over starting HRT is causing me to push back on starting it (which is ridiculous, I know!!).
Thanks.

I’ve got a Mirena, so can’t comment on the progesterone side, but I found that using gel at night affected my sleep so I use it in the morning.
And I understand your anxiety about starting it, I had that too.
I don’t see HRT as a cure all, I still take magnesium glycinate for sleep, omega 3 for joints, vitamin B complex for energy, and I gave up alcohol as it was affecting my sleep and giving night sweats.

What dosage gel are you on.

I do gel in the morning after a shower (partly because I remember it as it's part of a routine) and progesterone tablet at night as suggested by my GP - keep it on bedside table where I put my water. I don't feel much different but it's stopped the hot flushes.

I do both at night (but testosterone in the morning). I've not tried it another way so I'm not sure if these timings are benefitting me more than some other combination.

Thanks for the replies and sharing your experiences.
@cleowasmycat I was just advised to start off with one pump, see how it goes and increase gradually if I feel the need (to a max of 3).
@DustyLee123 good to know I'm not the only one who feels anxious about starting it (I think the main worry is it'll make my migraines even worse and not actually help with the other symptoms).

From reading all your experiences, I guess it's a bit of trial and error to see what works best for me.

Thanks again.

I started both in February. I didn't really see much difference after 3 months decides to continue for another 3 months, to see what happened. I ended up having to stop using it as I started having an upset stomach every morning. I couldn't understand why. Turned out it was the tablets. I stopped taking both straight away.

Hi @Shufflebumnessie I taking Oestrogel & testosterone in the evening and progesterone (I’m 2 weeks on/2 weeks off) a bit later at bedtime. I find the progesterone aids sleep so this is helpful. I definitely sleep better the 2 weeks I am on progesterone. This is a known effect and I think mine actually recommends in the pamphlet to take at night.
best of luck!
