Mirena - Post-menopause - Bleeding

Had a Mirena 4.5 years ago (aged 53) after 7+ months of heavy bleeding. Was told at the time that it would be effective for 5 years and by that time I would be through the menopause. I had it done at the hospital as they also took a biopsy and a week later we went into lockdown so I never saw a Dr again. The biopsy was clear.
Pretty much every month since having the Mirena I have had light spotting for a day or two, nurse practitioner said that this can be the case. Recently though I have been bleeding slightly more for over a week (I will be 58 in just under a month).
Having spoken the surgery, I have now been referred on the 2 week suspected cancer post-menopausal bleeding pathway. They told me not to worry this is standard for my age.
I am guessing that at nearly 58 I am post-menopausal, but on the other hand I have been having these small bleeds every month for the last 4.5 years. I have hot flushes (although not regularly), very low mood, joint pain and have gained over 3 stone in weight in the last 7 years.
Has anyone else experienced this please? Is there a possibility of not being fully through the menopause at nearly 58?

I have estrodiol gel + the Mirena. I find the gel helps with joint pain and motivation but I must religiously apply it every morning. I am mid 50s and have put on about 1 stone in weight so far. I dont think this helps with joint pain.

I’m 58 and got my first ever Mirena fitted 3 weeks ago because I’ve been bleeding on continuous HRT for 18 months. I’ve been sent for 2 transvaginal scans (2-week pathway) and all clear both times. I’m hoping the Mirena will stop the bleeding and protect my endometrium better than utrogestan.
At 58 I still have menopausal symptoms but thank God for oestrogen and testosterone - I ache less and feel stronger than I have in years.

Yes, how are you doing @MyJoyousSquid?
Since having my first ever Mirena fitted in September aged 58, the bleeding seems to have finally abated. I got a little bit of spotting over Christmas but the GP thinks this may continue because of my HRT and I’m at the meno clinic soon to try and get my oestrogen increased.
@Doglover36 do you think you might need a new Mirena?
