I’m 50 and so far I had no any other perimenopause symptoms at all apart from irregular and now missing my periods since April.
My mum had her perimenopause in her mis 40s and symptoms she had was extremely red face and hot flashes.
Anyway I had none of that but what I am experiencing now for last 3 weeks is a sudden feeling of warm, like just being warm in my clothes all of sudden about 6x per day..
It’s not hot flash as I would imagine, just a warm feeling lasting for a minute or so quite few times per day.
It's pretty uncomfortable, I’m at work and suddenly I feel like weirdly feverish in my clothes, also feels like sweating but not sweating as per usually sweating.
Also I had a private gynaecologist scan few weeks ago and the dr mentioned that I’m done with my periods, there is nothing in my womb to come as period ever.
I never heard anything like that before, I was still hoping my period would arrive.. I do feel a bit sad that that’s it after 37 years, it’s just feels a bit weird..I thought it would take longer than that ( I only had irregular periods for last two years however they were still coming and before very regular every 28days.
So are these warm feelings actually hot flashes?

Yes. That's exactly what a hot flash is.

Yes it’s like that for me as well (I’m early 40s and have just booked a GP appointment).

Thanks ladies. I always imagined hot flash as extremely burning sensation, like being on the fire ..
this is not like that just warm feeling and yes, just top half of body.

That sounds like my mild ones yes. Then they went crazy 20+ times a day a full top to toe burning up.

The HRT patch stopped them within 3 days, I was so relived.

Oh no, that sounds not great.
And I was thinking menopause symptoms would pass me!

Op you maybe lucky!!

I'm having a shit show, but my whole life I've been so sensitive to my hormones.

Endometriosis, the rages, monthly heavy periods, crazy energy and cycles, bonkers pregnancy's.

So peri menopause for me is like an utter rollercoaster, but I'm enjoying the ride and sticking patches everywhere. 🤣

I have so many friends that ride it out in a calm and collected manner.

I think using the American term is making you think of them differently. A flash does make it sound more sudden and intense. UK term is flush which does describe better a less acute sensation.

An American asked me recently why my face was "flashing" and I didn't understand what she meant at all. Thought I must have been blinking rapidly or something. Eventually realised she meant what we would call flushing and it made more sense.

I read the other threads here about hot flush and they all described ut as hot in the face, I don't have that, hence confused.
I guess it might still come...this is probably just the beginning of it, had no any symptoms at all.
