Stopping HRT

I'm 41 and have been using HRT now for 4 months. I'm on Evorel 50 patches, Utrogestan 100 days 1-12 of the month and Vagirux twice weekly.
I think it's the Utrogestan part I struggle with the most as while I'm taking this my appetite increases drastically to the point where I'm never full, even after eating. The days after I've stopped taking it my appetite reduces back to normal. As a consequence of this I've piled weight on. My libido is at an all time low.
I'm still feeling very low intermittently throughout the treatment which I had hoped HRT would help with. I still have bouts of vaginal discomfort too even with the Vagirux. I feel like I'm all over with my hormones and very down and anxious at times.
I can't get to see my HRT specialist until 29th October now however I've never really felt like she's been that much help really, the doctors at my surgery also don't seem to know much about HRT so I'm at a loss as to what to do. . If I did stop I would hope to continue with vagirux but not sure if this is possible but feel it would be needed as prior to starting HRT I suffered terribly with Vaginitis ( I also use intimate soothing cream ).
I wonder if I started HRT too soon and should have tried alternative treatments prior to this. I really don't know what to do at this point. Does anyone know if I was to stop how to go about that as struggling to get into doctors to talk about that too. Any advice or own experiences I'd be really grateful for. I'm a bit lost and down about the whole situation. My thinking is to stop it all to perhaps reset and see how I go with a more natural approach.

If I were you, I'd switch progesterone, up the oestrogen and change to estriol cream but double dose for a few weeks.

I started on 50mcg oestrogen and progesterone. I'm now on 100mcg and the mirena and testosterone. Much happier.

Also, my private gynae told me younger women need a lot more oestrogen than women in their 50s. I'm 46.
