Utrogestan every day and now bleeding

I am 55. I have not had a period for many months, possibly a year but I can't be sure. I have been on HRT for 3 years or so. The thing is, I have been taking Utrogestan every single day without pausing for breakthrough. I am also on Evorel patches and vaginal estradiol.
I felt all was good until 16 days ago I started bleeding, and it hasn't stopped. I have booked an appointment with my GP for 10 days time, that's the earliest they can see me.
I have made the mistake of googling and now I am worried sick that I have cancer, but I can't find any info on the consequences of taking Utrogestan every single day. Just wondering if anyone's gone through similar?

I had a transvaginal ultrasound yesterday for ovarian pain and bleeding. Like you, I'd got worked up about the possible outcomes.

It was not at all painful. Not even uncomfortable for me, and the staff were lovely.

Remember to go with a full bladder as they often start with an abdominal ultrasound. But you can have a lovely big wee before wand time.

The clinician was able to reassure me there and then that there was no cause for concern, which was lovely.

Fingers crossed for a positive outcome. Remember, early investigations are always better, however unlikely it is to be something serious.

Hello, update. Had the ultrasound. Zero pain or discomfort.
A polyp has been mentioned. Waiting for GP to get in touch now.
I guess this means I need to have that horrible procedure?

Hello. Glad the scan was ok.

If you need a hysteroscopy please can I strongly recommend the general anaesthetic route? It's quick so you're in and out on a couple of hours. I had one with and one without and I know which I'd rather do !!

I've now had 2 scans and biopsies, 2 hysteroscopies, a coil insertion and still bleeding after 12 months ☹️. So another scan and biopsies for me. Smashing !

I'm 59 and haven't had a period in 10 years just this incessant bleeding. It's ever so frustrating.

Good luck with your next steps 😊

Thanks @ooooohnoooooo, what an utter nightmare you've gone through.
I'm hearing so many mixed messages about the hysteroscopy. I am terrified!

Don't be. Do the GA route. Insist on it. So worth it. Then the worry can be mainly gone.

And stop googling. It really doesn't help !

Hi
I started bleeding 3 weeks ago on 3 pumps of estrogel and one progesterone. My womb lining has got too thick 7mm and have had to double my progesterone but now I'm bleeding even heavier! Does anyone know if thinning of the womb causes heavy bleeding as I'm worried. Awaiting results of biopsy too but shoukd I bleeding? Thankyou
