Hrt progesterone- womb thickness

I have been on hrt for just over 3 years
I had an episode on bleeding last week, so I went for a private ultrasound that showed I have an endometrium thickness of between 6.7 and 7.7mm

I am on continuous oestrogel 2 pumps and 100g utrogestrone.

I have another ultrasound in 2 weeks at the hospital

If I start taking 200mg of utrogestan per night, will it thin the lining even by a little bit in 2 weeks?

I thought the utrogestan was supposed to keep the womb lining thin, but it seems not to have worked properly

I think to answer your questions, you need to give a bit more info.

Was the scan done by a gynaecologist?
The range - between 6. 7- 7.7 is slightly odd as it's usually one measurement.
Whoever did the scan should have explained at the time if there was anything that looked abnormal. The thickness is a guide and needs to be taken in context of what everything looks like.

How old are you now?
Had your periods stopped when you started HRT?
Is it possible that you are having your own cycle and the bleeding was a natural period . (A lot of women seem to be put onto continuous too early and then they get bleeding.)

Why are you having another NHS scan after this one?
Were you worried and paid to have it done privately rather than waiting 2 weeks?

I am 10 year post menopause -55 years of age.

The scan was done at ultrasound direct, not a gynaecologist.
The 2 different thickness ranges were at the base of the uterus and the top

Continous hrt for just over 3 years

The training for the place you want to is very minimal. I'd not take much notice of what you were told because it wouldn't be done by a doctor.
It's caused you to worry and you were given the measurements without any context of what could be seen.

The HRT dose you're on shouldn't in itself cause bleeding if you're taking Utrogestan regularly as directed.

Try not to worry and see what happens at your next appt.
Good luck.

@Sagaaaa I have had a few wellbeing scans at the same place, when I was peri, and had a similar experience where my endometrium was 11mm and they were concerned. They were not very professional in their handling at all and caused me a lot of worry. I went to see a private gynaecologist shortly after and long story short, it was fine but a mirena coil was inserted. The lining is 3.7mm on last measurement. I'm very much in two minds about hrt now I'm menopausal, given my history, and I have also had moderate endo. When ive applied one pump of the oestrogen i can get a little spotting and have discarded oestrogen for now.
