Run out of Utrogestan - what can I do now?

I've been on 2 pumps of Oestrogel and one Utrogestan tablet a day full time (no 7 day breaks) for 2 years. I'm 52. Just put the gel on now and looked in the Utrogestan box and it's completely empty so I used the last pack and forgot to reorder before running out.

What can I do now? I've reordered via the GP app but it won't process to Tue or Wed next week. Can a chemist help? What will happen to me physically? Not sure if I'm searching it up wrong but I can't find any info on the net.

You could try going to your regular pharmacy and asking for an emergency prescription, they should be able to dispense.

as an aside: left my Utrogestan behind when I went on holiday to france in Aug and as I had an old Uk prescription scrip with me, they sold me a box!

but here I think you’ll be ok. Go to pharmacy first thing.

If your run out of your meds (any meds) you can go on 111 online and fill in a form. This will get you an emergency prescription until you can speak to a doctor.

There is an emergency prescription form on nhs website (111). Not sure if utrogestan counts as an emergency though.

Not an emergency ?
It is if running out means OP can’t take the orstrogel as they have to be taken together.

It’s prescribed medication so of course it’s an emergency if she runs out. You’re not meant to stop it suddenly.

Nothing dreadful will happen if you have to wait for your prescription.
You may have some spotting.

You might want to think about increasing the dose for 2 tablets a day when you get some, just for the number of days when you've missed it, to help the lining stay thin. OR your other option is to stop using the gel for a few days from now.

estrogen and progesterone work together ( I expect you know this) to keep the lining thin so there may be a hiccup if you miss progesterone for a few days.

Thank you all so much! I never knew the emergency prescription service existed till you mentioned it.

I did it on 111 online and got a text to go to my pharmacy when it opened at 9am, few quick questions and I've got 5 days worth till my prescription arrives next week!

I'm like 10 hrs late taking it, but honestly that couldn't have been sorted any more promptly thanks to you wonderful people!
