Estrogel and sunbed/sun

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with this query. I have been on estrogel and mirena coil for around 2 and a half years. I use 2 pumps of the gel. I've been in the sun with no problems since using the gel but I've always had versicolour piteriosis (not sure if that's spelt right) the gel hasn't made this any worse and I think my brown spots on my face have got better since using it.
I'm going on holiday to Spain in 3 weeks and I am very pale due to not being on holiday since covid. I want to use the sunbed for a few times to help with my prickly heat and give me a little colour. I don't use sunbeds and I know the risks before anyone points this out.
I have read that estrogel can cause sensitivity to the sun. I'm just wondering if anyone has had any problems being In the sun on holiday and more specifically does anyone use a sunbed whilst using the gel. Did you have any problems.
I'm thinking of putting my gel on in the early evening when on holiday so not to cause any problems with absorption from the pool and suncream. How does everyone tackle this? Is this a good option?
Thanks

TBH for the sake of your skin I'd invest in a good fake tan and avoid the risks of sun beds or even 'sunbathing' although it depends how hot it is.
The skin damage just isn't worth it. No one will care if you look pale on the beach and the best way surely is just to get a little sun each day?

The condition you named (I had to google) is a skin condition like a fungus. Is that right? Or did you mean the brown patches that women can get when pregnant or using hormonal treatments? Chloasma?

You can also take antihistamines to help prickly heat. Prickly heat is a UV sensitivity and even a tan doesn't necessarily stop it. It's more about your skin aclimatising to the UV.

I did not realise this was a possibility! I started HRT in May and noticed white patches on my back after a holiday in June. I didn't make any connection at all with HRT (and haven't seen a doctor).

It's the fungus thing but I do get the brown patches too like in pregnancy but not a lot. Can you use fake tan? I thought I had read that it stops absorption. Do you use it because that would be my preferred method. Thank you for the reply

I live in Spain and have to abandon the gel for 3 months (30 plus months June - mid Sep) It just melts/slides off.

I never ever go in the sun, it is so, so hot here and so uncomfortable and unsafe.

I wouldnt bother trying to apply it for a week or so.

We are going end of Sept to beginning of Oct. I was thinking of applying the gel after a evening shower when it's a bit cooler.

You could use fake tan but leave an area where you can use gel.
I have read that it's ok to apply gel in other places (except near the breasts) such as bum cheeks where women put patches.

I have used fake tan very occasionally but not all over. I have only used it on my legs which means I can apply gel to my upper arms.

Thanks, I might try it everywhere apart from my arms then because that's where I usually put my gel. My arms are usually exposed to the sun anyway so it's the rest of my body that's white 😂 x
