Anyone on Gepretix as part of continuous combined HRT with oestrogel?

I've been taking 2 pumps of oestrogel in the morning and 100 mgs of gepretix at night, every night, for 4 months. I'm 59, 6 years post meno and still have my uterus. All was well until end of month 3 when I had bleeding for 3 days. I knew this was a possible side effect so carried on. 3 weeks later though, and I'm bleeding again but this is a bit heavier and I have mild cramps. I guess I was sort of expecting spotting but this is like a light period. I'm on day 4 of bleeding this time. Anyone else experienced this?

If, after 6 months you're still bleeding a review of progesterone is needed and they'd usually suggest 200mgs a day.

Just to add- Gepretix is a newer, cheaper brand name for micronised progesterone (so the NHS are buying it) and many women with older prescriptions are using Utrogestan.

I'm just adding this here as some posters won't know what Gepretix is.

Thanks @JinglingSpringbells The nurse who reviewed me at 3 months, before I started to get bleeds did say that our practice prescribes it because it's cheaper and that's fair enough, but I can't see anything in the product info about taking it continuously. I've also seen on other forums that when women have been switched to it from Utrogestan, more or less all of them have had bleeding where they didn't have it before. I've started to record how often it's happening and will contact my surgery if it gets worse or continues beyond 6 months.
Thanks again. You're always helpful with this stuff!

It is identical to Utrogestan. The women who've reported bleeding were mainly, if not all, in peri when breakthrough bleeds can occur. I hate to say it but it is a bit Emporer's New Clothes and these rumours often cause more problems. The ingredients are 100% identical and you can check that on the patient leaflets online.

You may have seen my previous post where I described how a pharmacy tried to sneakily give me Gepretix (I happened to check the bag before leaving the pharmacy) so I queried it. They were charging me for Utrogestan (private prescription) and I'd paid for that. They swapped it immediately but it did make me wonder why- because it's cheaper.

You may find it all settles down. If you're taking 2 pumps to relieve symptoms, you could try less and it's likely that 1 pump won't cause a bleed.
