Anyone had spotting on continous utrogestan?

Hi, has anyone taken continuous Utrogestan and is still spotting after 5 months (quite regular)? It was upped to 200mg daily 5 months ago but the spotting is still there, albeit light every 4-5 weeks for a few days. I am almost on month 6 and fed up as have done 6 months of the 100mg which didn't work. Just concerned as it has always been regular(ish) but it says it should work by month 6

Yes me so I swapped to provera 5mg and it's been great. Seems to suit me more as well. Back in the day I also loved Premarin (I know all about horses so no one start 😂) so I wonder if not all of us are as quite suited to bio identical hrt

@Ladybird3355 Are you post menopause?
I'm wondering if you are when you say the spotting was almost regular.

A lot of GPs seem to be advocating continuous HRT when it's too soon ( should be for age over 54 or at least 12 months with no periods - and could be 2 years for much younger women under 50.)

Thank you so much for your reply. It's good to know I'm not the only one as you. I will look into that.

I know, I did start when I was 10 and started hrt when I was 44. It was great at first and then had to up the oestrogen as time went on, After 5 years was told 'you are menopausal so just take them continuously'. I am grateful that I get hrt as so many don;t but I am 49 so didn't think I would be? The spotting is very light (just a liner) but I always get the headaches, spots, hot sweats, sore boobs etc at the same time so even though it's light is still pretty regular and feels like a very light period. Never had a period of more than 6 weeks without a slight bleed. I'm so confused...Thank you for your reply

My honest opinion is you are not ready for continuous hrt.
You're having bleeding every few weeks and you're only 49.

Just because you are on hrt for 5 years doesn't mean you are post menopause.

A lot of drs whip women onto combined continuous hrt too soon. No idea why.

Why not revert to sequential? Take 200mgs for 12 days per month and see how that is.

I agree, I don't feel ready as my body seems to be still running in the background. I'm going to make an appointment and discus it. Thank you
