Sweating all the time!

I've been on HRT for about 5 months now and if anything my symptoms are worse not better and the sweating and hot flushes are driving me insane.

I am hot and sticky all the time. Sweating in my hair and in my neck; don't talk about the boob area. I feel gross.

Do I need to try a different HRT? I'm currently on Lenzetto spray and on max dose. How does everyone else combat this, I really thought HRT would help!

I'm not on HRT and sweat a lot during exercise (even not that heavy). I don't have any solutions but you're not alone. It is annoying.

BubblePerm · 21/07/2024 09:20

I've been on HRT for ages now, and with the relatively mild heat and high humidity, I'm sweating buckets.
I feel like a mess. Every time I wash my hands after the loo,
I spend a minute running my wrists under the cold water. I've had to slow down and consider my comfort a bit more; very frustrating and uncomfortable.

Will posters add their age, I m 45 and notice I seem to be sweating more easily.

Replying to my own post since someone asked to add age. I'm 51. Been an issue the last couple of years or so.

I’m 53, been on HRT for 18 months and almost all my symptoms are now gone, apart from this infernal sweating. The slightest heat or exertion and I’m dripping, especially my head, neck and face. It’s mortifying. I’ve had my dosage of oestrogen upped twice, so I don’t need a change of prescription - I think I will just have to live with it. I dress much, much cooler than the weather would usually call for, carry a portable fan, and unless I’m exercising, take everything very much more slowly in warm weather than I usually would. It’s still awful, though, so I sympathise wholeheartedly.

I just have double the bras and a bigger wardrobe. Then, when I've been for my walk or otherwise sweated, I get changed and fresh. That's all I've found I need to do to manage the issue. Can't beat it, go with it.

Not so easy when it happens on the way in to the office, or when I am out doing site visits. It feels unprofessional and embarrassing to arrive visibly sweating all over my face. If I only had to be at home I could manage it fine, it wouldn’t be an issue then.

Fair enough. I don't have a very physical job, so it's not a problem for me then. If I did, I'd just take a change with me, but I get it could feel embarrassing if people noticed regular outfit changes during the day.

CandiedPrincess · 21/07/2024 10:20

It's not about needing to change clothes, it's the physical feeling of being suffocated by heat, feeling hot in my head and neck every single time I move or walk anywhere. No amount of clothes changes would help that.

Oh gosh. Exactly the same here except I'm 47 and on patched and ulgesteron at night.
The sweating is ridiculous, the slightest hint of temperatures over 18° C and I'm starting like crazy. Mostly on my head and face, bit also under boob and groin! It's miserable at times.
Recently had my hrt upped which has helped a little but just hate being so obviously sweating all the time.
My boss is very good and allows me to wear a t shirt and light cotton trousers which helps.

Sympathies to all the other sweaters out there.

I'm 40 and currently about to embark on a what might be wrong with me gp visit. I talked about this in a different thread but hadn't mentioned my age, crap at checking for notifications to see if anyone has asked my age. Wondered onto this thread due to problems with sweating. I've noticed under boob dampness to point the skin has come off in two little patches. Friday I went to get my kids from school and watched some fluid, to my horror, trickle all the way down my arm. This is with use of deodorant. I'm not even going into the other list of bollocks but I get how crap it is and I've started waking up feeling I've been hit by a bus. I think the worst thing is a dry vagina, i have to carry around lube to apply in the loo at intervals during the day, it's getting bloody stupid.

I have to climb ladders and scaffolding, get into attic spaces, go on to archaeological sites and walk landscapes - on all of which I am there at the invitation of the owner. No loo, no chance of a drink most of the time - and definitely no chance to change clothes, even if I do stop sweating at some point!

Theeyeballsinthesky · 21/07/2024 10:48

It might be that lenzetto doesn’t really work
fir you. I was on that and came off it as i
found it wasn’t doing that much g, changed to patches and it’s much better

largeprintagathachristie · 21/07/2024 11:02

I’m 54. On HRT but sweating buckets.
Night sweats.
Plus just sweating more, generally.
By the time I’ve walked 20 minutes to the station, carrying backpack, then got on a (boiling) hot tube to get to work, my FACE is sweating.
That didn’t use to happen.

I bring a different top to change into at work but the office layout means I have to go into the open plan office before accessing the bathrooms. I just want to be quietly ignored during this bit - I am sweating, not glowing - but there’s always some bugger who says something like, “Morning Largeprint, how was your weekend?” or “Can I catch you about this this work thing?” the SECOND I come in.

That all sounds very interesting and a job I might enjoy. I sit down and talk to people for a living, so work is not a context I sweat in.
