Timing of hormone blood tests

I have been on HRT for 1.5 years and my GP has prescribed some blood tests to check hormone levels, potentially to see if I am on the right dose. Is there a specific time of my cycle I should get these done or any time? I have emailed the surgery but they take ages to get back. Thank you.

No one needs these blood tests.
The test is if your symptoms are being controlled on the current dose. Or you're having side effects.
NICE doesn't suggest this.
It's inaccurate and a waste of resources.

I think if your GP insists you should ask why they are suggsting it.

I would still rather get them done.

I'm only sharing what I've been told by a consultant gynaecologist (I've used HRT for 16 years with them) which is that single tests for estrogen are inaccurate because they vary over 24 hours.
I've never had my estrogen tested and when asked why, they explained.

The guidance is that if your symptoms are being helped by HRT then that means the dose is correct. If you still have symptoms, the next step is to increase the dose and review after a few weeks.

Obviously if you want to have it done, fair enough but it won't be of any real use.

My GP has tested mine twice to get an indication of my estrogen levels as the dosage (patches) had been changed quite considerably. She didn't choose a particular part of the cycle timing wise but knowing the date meant the result could be compared to the phase I was in at the time.
