Is this a reason to come off HRT?

I'm post menopausal, mid 40s and have been on hrt for 3 months and in this time I've gone up 4 cup sizes (from a GG) and am showing no signs of this slowing down. I'm really sensitive to hormones, I was an A cup prior to my first pregnancy and with each child I just got bigger, and HRT seems to be having the same effect.

Would my Dr ok me stopping it for this reason?

You don't need a reason to come off HRT. You can stop it any time you want.

I'd say give it 3 months - that's what they'll advise. They may need to tweak the dose but some increase in breast size is to be expected - i went from a DD to an F in 3 months.

what type are you on (name)?

oh, and at your age you're more likely to be pre-menopausal, post menopause is usually 55 onwards.

My drs want me on it until I'm over 50 due to other risk factors

I'm on Oestrogel and Utrestogen and I'm definitely post menopausal because of surgery, so it was sudden too.

You should and could try reducing the dose of Oestrogel.
So if you're on 2 pumps, drop back to one.

Your dr is right that being post meno in your mid 40s is a risk to your heart and bones, but even a low dose can have some benefits.

Why not go and talk to your gp? Ask if there is a menopause specialist in the practice, or if you can be referred to a menopause clinic. There may be alternatives that suit you better.

If you've had a surgical menopause then the only thing you can do is look at alternative types of HRT. Can you afford to see a specialist?

Can you reduce the estrogen dose? I found estrogel really affected my breasts (they swelled up like very painful balloons) in a way that estrogen patches don't.
So maybe try a lower dose of estrogen patch for a few months before you give up.
