Stopping HRT advice

I’ve been on HRT for 2 years. Started on gel then 50mcg patches then increased to 100mcg around 8 months ago. I’m also on testosterone- androfeme.

I’m not really sure if it’s made a difference. Before I went on it I was tired, irritable, emotional and anxious on and off. I had bad night sweats and digestion issues. I kept hearing from people how going on HRT would be this wonderful new me and I would really notice the difference. But it just hasn’t happened.

I no longer get night sweats and digestion issues (bloating, wind etc) have improved a little but I still experience them. The tiredness and mood changes however have not improved at all.

I’m beginning to think it’s simply a ‘time of life’ affliction rather than specifically a menopause hormonal thing. I mean if you look at the majority of women in their 50s who are holding down jobs, looking after children, caring for ageing parents, doing the lion’s share of domestic chores whilst organising pretty much everything to do with schools, holidays, house improvements, well…. of course we’re bloody tired and moody.

Anyway, I digress. I really came on here to ask 1) is there anyone who also thinks HRT has not really done much for them? and 2) how do I come off it when can’t get a GP appointment and if I go to the private clinic I started off with, they’ll probably charge me £200 for a ‘consultation’ to reduce the patches.
Anyone gone cold turkey?? Or can I cut patches in half?
