I'm 48. The GP took bloods last year and said I was perimenopausal although the chaotic cycle for the past 7 years gave that away. Cycle is still erractic and AF awol at 58 days late. I've had some Brian spitting fur a week in that time which always seems to be linked to vagifem use because I can't remember it unless it's daily.
My neck skin has gone so crepey in the past year and is getting me down. My face is ok. I've read that this can be due to la k of oestrogen and dr used it's time to ask for HRT.
I can't take progesterone without wanting to kill someone. It totally messes up my head, my skin and irritates my endometriosis.

What do I ask for? What do I need? Will my poor neck improve and my poor fanny?

"I've had some Brian spitting fur" sorry op this made me giggle, just say you're menopausal and need hrt? Or is it not that simple? Hand hold anyway and leave Brian alone 😉

I called my surgery and asked for the best person to speak too. One of the nurses had specialist training so I booked in with her and she suggested what I should use.

Write down all your symptoms, questions etc so when’ you’re in the appointment, you’ve got the facts at hand, and as suggested above, ask if they gave an hrt specialist.

Oh dear lord, that's quite some typo! Brown spotting. I think my phone is menopausal too.
There's no specialist at my surgery but I have an appointment with a lovely female GP on Friday.
Are patches the go-to now? Gels?
Will anything help my neck? It's changed so drastically but the rest of my skin is ok. I will not cope with any weight gain. I worked hard to lose 2 stone and am now relatively happy with my weight. Will I have to have progesterone? I don't have hot flushes anymore and my main issue is the total word salad that comes out of my mouth instead of proper sentences, losing words, and obviously the totally random cycle. I'm ok otherwise. Oh apart from the increase in palpitations and my bp requiring meds despite a healthy lifestyle and having a bmi of 21.

Yes you will need progesterone as you still have a womb. You can have gel or patches which are used continuously and separate progesterone which is taken for 12 days a month as you are still having periods. Or you can have combined patches with progesterone in already. If progesterone intolerant you can have longer cycles so don’t take the progesterone as often. Unfortunately it is a bit of trial and error to get the right balance at first.
