It’s an HRT one - pills?

I have been on combined HRT twice previously, and come off it because I immediately put on lots of weight both times, and also I didn’t really need it. Ashamed to say I bought the hype! And the negatives didn’t outweigh the risks.
however, I’m having really bad pain in my joints, to the point where I can’t open heavy doors etc.
ive been tested for rheumatoid arthritis but the blood test came back clear.
so I need to try HRT again.
i will take ustrogen again, so is there a estrogen only pill I can take alongside? Don’t want the progesterone pills.
has anyone taken the oestrogen pill?
thanks x

If you have a womb, you will absolutely have to take a progestin/progesterone alongside. There is no getting around this unless you have a hysterectomy.

Yes, as I said I’ll take utrogestone as this was ok last time. So want an estrogen only pill alongside that.

Looks like Elleste do a oestrogen only pill, has anyone used it?

I have used Elleste duet . The first bit was oestrogen only and they were great. The progesterone, not. But you aren't planning on that .

Having estrogen as a patch, spray or gel has less risk of blood clots so is generally a better option. It's also a lower dose of form of the hormone that is more like what your body produces. That said if you really want oral estrogen you can get estrogen in tablet form specifically for HRT rather than trying the sort that is in contraception.

Can you explain this to me. Sorry must be being dense, but genuinely don't know what you mean

Ashamed to say I bought the hype!

Yes of course
I mean that, when I went on HRT twice before, I didn’t really really need it.
i had some symptoms like night sweats and brain fog, and I was very swayed by positive discussions about HRT - from friends, on here, in media.
the negatives of HRT outweighed the positives for me , and I read more about it and realized that that’s a common experience, and I’m also aware of the risks.
now my joint pain means, if HRT solves that, the positives would probably outweigh the negatives but I had not given it a balanced view before - hence saying I bought the hype, ie believed all of the positivity.

Exactly the same! So thinking if I take elleste solo then utrogestan, that might work better?

Sorry I can't give advice as I've not taken hrt. But I'm interested in your experience. I'm 51, meno at 48. And my joints have this year started basically clicking/painful/not working etc But otherwise, my sleep is alright, my IBS digestion is better post-meno .... but I'm having issues with basic walking currently even though I exercise a lot - so I'm not running to hrt but if I can't walk in a year then.....

@Sofabodatgym I’ll update and let you know if the HRT does help my joints, the pain is quite debilitating for me at times.
