@LoyalPeachSeal Will you be having your ovaries removed too? This will affect the symptoms you may or may not get.

Some of my friends had full hysterectomies, then went straight on to HRT. They've stayed younger-seeming than most of us! Without a uterus, you can have oestrogen only instead of having to include that mood devil, progesterone.

From the little they've said about it, I gather they had their hormone doses finely titrated and included things like a little bit of testosterone (for libido and drive). If you can get referred to an endocrinologist, go for it.

You could battle through without help, of course; I wouldn't.

Hi just to give you my experience:
I had total hysterectomy + ovaries removed so went into surgical menopause
My life is a lot better without fibroids and bleeding
Re surgical menopause- definitely you need oestrogen HRT for bones , heart, brain and I am really happy with it. My mood is steady and I feel great, I do get vaginal dryness but that’s the only symptom and there are remedies for that. The bad symptoms arise if you can’t have oestrogen
