HRT question

Im new to this board and would appreciate some advice ..

Im 50 with night sweats, brain fog, sleeplessness, aches and wondered what I can do to help myself? My mum and aunt had breast cancer in their 50s so I expect this means HRT is out of the question? I feel so confused my all the information available, so far I’ve buried my head in the sand but have started to struggle greatly.

Speak to the GP, it may still be a good option.

There is no strong evidence that having a family history of breast cancer puts you at any higher risk of getting breast cancer if you take HRT, compared a very small increased risk of breast cancer to women who do not have a family history of breast cancer.

@PardonMee Your aunt is not relevant.
The family risk factor is if your mum and a sister (your sister not an aunt) had BC at a young age (under 50.)

You should be tested for the BRACa gene anyway - has your GP suggested this or have you asked?

It's certainly not out of the question. You should ask your GP to refer you to a specialist to discuss.
