Lower abdominal pain

I'm 50 and possibly going through menopause but yet to get many symptoms. This week for the second time I have had a very uncomfortable feeling and pain in the lower abdomen. The only way to explain it it feels like someone is twisting my insides. Can be excruciating at times and stops me in my strides.
Wasn't sure what to take so took peppermint tea which after a few cups eased it a bit. Also taken paracetamol which did help. Have had to open my bowels more so wondered if I had been a bit constipated also have had a lot of wind. Can still feel a bit uncomfortable but not as bad as it was on Thursday.
Have read to change diet to see if it helps.
Does anyone else get this abdominal pain and can any recommend what to do?
This is the second time in a few months I have had this so will monitor before seeing doctor to see if it's a pattern.

It's best if you see your GP.
No one can say what's causing this from what you have said.
It could be IBS, issues with your bowels, or your ovaries.

Your GP needs to see you, maybe refer you to a gastroenterologist and also a scan of your ovaries. It's probably nothing serious but at the same time there are diseases that have the same symptoms, like bowel and ovarian cancer.
Best to have it all checked. Don't wait when it's been going on for months.

Thank you will complete an online form for the doctors when they open tomorrow. That's our only way of getting to see one. At least I can write down everything hopefully won't take too long to see one.

Definitely see a GP.
Abdominal pain can be a symptom of the good, bad and the ugly.

Best of luck.
